Meeko's Nervous Breakdown.~

Ok, I consider it common knowledge that my cat isn't exactly the bravest in the world.
He hides by my feet during the louder thunder storms, is kinda jumpy and clings to his Mommy (Me) when something's spooked him.

Heck, he even looks a little unsure in this pic. -w-;
Anyways... This little fuzzy of mine had a bit of a freak out last night.
This will probably be hilarious in hindsight when he settles down and I can stop worrying about him but for now, I'm just gonna keep checking on him to help him relax.

What happened?
Well... he was playing with a plastic bag to start.
I decided to just let him cause it's just something cats love to do.
But, being the adorable little airhead that he is, he somehow got the handle stuck around his waist... And upon realizing something was chasing him, he bolted. I didn't know he could run that fast!
I swear he did about 3 laps of the ground floor trying to outrun the bag too! D:

Eventually he wedged his way under what I use mostly as a foot-board of my desk and behind the plastic drawers set up under the part that swings open.

I'm sure you can figure out which part the drawers are under and which part has the thing i end up using as a footstool with this pic.
We have it set up like a corner desk. He was hiding in the corner by the time I could catch up to him.

The bag fell off under the lower thing he had crawled under and when i pulled it out, I realized, he had literally scared the piss out of himself...
I let him hide out in the corner and calm down a little while I took the bag to the garbage and cleaned the area where the poor guy made the mess. Sprayed the area with a disinfecting cleaner after initially cleaning it cause it was under my desk and it'd make me nervous if i didn't. Left that to dry on it's own.

After putting everything away I pulled the plastic drawers out (which I'm continuously thankful we decided to put the wheels on) and pulled Meeko out and held him for a little bit. His pulse was racing, he was tense and he clung to my shoulder.
It was adorable but the clothes I was wearing are now in need of cleaning since he'd got himself wet and they smell a little bit now. e_e

Ended up carrying him upstairs cause it was around 4 am and I was about to head to bed before everything happened anyways.
Took him into the washroom and set him on the window sill so i could dampen a bit of toilet paper and clean him off a bit. His eyes were huge and he wouldn't look away from the door.
Finally brought him into our room where he stayed under the bed all night, only coming out when he heard me wake up every couple hours or so (I have a horrible time sleeping anymore) to massage the teddy bear beside my side of the bed and take over my pillow while enjoying snuggles.
I think he was happy I'd "saved" him for the billionth time. |D
Then he'd go back under the bed after the exchange of attention and I'd go back to sleep.

Luckily, he did as i figured he would and cleaned himself up more at some point after knowing he was in the safety of our room so he didn't smell anymore.

Carried him downstairs with him stuck to my shoulder for a little while after before he figured he'd start cautiously looking around the room and jumping at every. little. sound.
He's currently hiding somewhere. He poked his head around the corner, wide-eyed, from the front hall when I started this post so... he's around here somewhere. >_>;

I figure he's gonna be a nervous wreck for a couple weeks, Ry says a couple of days.
Guess we'll just hafta see. e_e;
